ISLAM MD ARIFUL特任助教(常勤)
Currently, I am working as an Specially appointed assistant professor at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Science at Osaka University, Japan since October 2018. I have completed my Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Additionally, I obtained my PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry from Osaka University in 2017. Prior to my current position, I had acquired over 6 years of teaching experience in various universities in Bangladesh. My main research area is nucleic acid chemistry with a particular focus on antisense drug discovery. My research interests also include the synthesis of novel nucleotide analogues, and the characterization, and evaluation, of their biological properties.
研究テーマ
Nucleic acid Chemistry and, therapeutics.
Chemically modified nucleic acid analogues that resemble naturally occurring DNA and RNA, are widely employed in biochemical research and medicine. So in our research, we are trying to design, synthesis and characterized novel nucleoside analogues for oligonucleotide therapeutics. Expecting these molecules have enhance properties to develop medicine.
Organ targeted drug delivery development
In this research project, we are trying to develop some antisense oligonucleotide therapeutics, which can specifically target some specific organ of the body. By conjugating oligonucleotide with suitable ligand we can achieved this purpose.
Biological assay
The synthesized molecules required characterization and evaluation their properties. So, we perform several in vitro and in vivo biophysical properties evaluation in our laboratory or with the help of our collaborators.
Bioactivity guided screening of medicinal plants available in Bangladesh
During my earlier research carrier, I have been working on phytochemistry of several medicinal plants in Bangladesh. I still have some collaboration with my fellow researchers. We are trying to screening the traditional medicinal plants used in Bangladesh. We evaluate their medicinal properties in different In vitro and In vivo models by using different conventional methods.
