Exchange agreements

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has concluded an inter-faculty exchange agreement with the University of Arizona in the US (November 2008), as well as inter-university exchange agreement with the Faculty of Science (September 1996) and Faculty of Pharmacy (March 2006) at Mahidol University in Thailand. Our cooperative activities include joint research, academic meeting, and exchange of faculty members and students. Based on successful international exchanges and joint research with the School of Pharmacy, University of Munich in January 1997, we concluded an inter-university exchange agreement.
As a part of the event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Osaka University, a plan to promote international exchanges based on the funds donated by many contributors is steadily progressing. Projects such as organizing international forums, inviting researchers and students from overseas and dispatching researchers and graduate students from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences are well under way. We have a total of 86 oversea academic presentations by the end of academic year 2007.

International Exchanges

At Osaka University, no sophisticated English expressions are necessary. How fun it would be if you were able to communicate with foreign people using broken English and your speech is understood. Needless to say, English is an international language that is accepted everywhere. The Suita Campus has the International Student Center and International Center for Biotechnology, while the Toyonaka Campus has International House. At both campuses, international exchange programs are active. You will talk about Japanese culture in English and learn from foreign students about the nature and culture of their countries.

OUSSEP

The program called OUSSEP (Osaka University Short-term Student Exchange Program) is an opportunity for students from affiliated universities in other nations to study in English for one year at Osaka University.
Using such experiences as a weapon, you will move onto the international stage of research. Many famous researchers from overseas visit the School and the Graduate School and this provides opportunities for students to discuss with foreign researchers in English. In addition, you will make presentations of research results at international academic societies or publish them in specialized academic journals. There are a number of opportunities to study abroad. In particular, if you complete the last three years of the doctoral course, you will have plenty of chances to conduct research outside Japan. In this way, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences are two of the most active facilities in terms of international exchanges.
